Keri Hilson – Heart Attack
by Tru on Oct.05, 2009, under New Music, Promos, R&B / Slow Jams

She’s really erupted on to the scene. Dear Ms. Hilson has climbed the charts proving that she is worth paying some attention to.
She’s not stopping the slow jam train with a new one called Heart Attack. Keri croons about falling in love in a modern day instrumental. Definitely something worth dedicating to your boo.
Take a listen and pay Keri Hilson a visit at her official page.

Brian McKnight – What I’ve Been Waiting For
by Tru on Sep.23, 2009, under New Music, Promos, R&B / Slow Jams

It’s been a long time running for Mr. McKnight but he’s still got it. This slow jam is an extra slow one that sound a lot like his old stuff. Not that it’s a bad thing because I think the slow jam /rnb game needs this kinda throw back music again.
Let’s make a come back Brian. Check out the latest Brian McKnight developments at his official page.

Guess who’s back?
by Tru on Sep.20, 2009, under New Music, Promos, R&B / Slow Jams
The absence has been long because life has been busy.
Moving and starting a new job mainly. Both extremely over rated but probably a little necessary to live.
Apologies for not updating. I’ve been thinking about ways to make this blog better and, besides providing more updates, I was thinking about making downloads straight from the website.
Meaning?
Just save the track straight from the post. Here’s how:
Right click > Save Link As > Name your file and remember where it goes > DONE!
Simple and straight forward. None of this skipping to another page. Just remember to get them quick as I’ll be removing song links after a certain period of time (don’t worry I’ll give you a heads up).
Try it with the below sweet track from Marina Chello.

Newly signed and under the Bad Boys record umbrella this is suppose to be her break out single.
Very very good voice. Haunting in a very positive manner. Highlights are her voice most definitely. Check her out through her MySpace or go to Bad Boy Records for her profile.

Nicole Scherzinger – Powers Out
by Tru on Aug.07, 2009, under New Music, Promos, R&B / Slow Jams

And I am back! Its been an eventful couple of weeks/semi months but I hope to jump on as frequently as I can.
Today we have a new one from Nicole Scherzinger from the Pussy Cat Dolls. Can’t believe none of her songs have really hit the mainstream circuit yet. This slow jam is a duet with an unknown but they both perfectly compliment each other.
For those looking for meaning, this song is about sacrificial and unconditional love. Being able to give without ever expecting anything back and to keep on giving even when times are bad. Maybe a song that more people should listen and follow?

Babyface – That’s My Promise
by Tru on Jul.07, 2009, under New Music, Promos, R&B / Slow Jams

Babyface, one of the few kings left in the rnb game. I’m happy and relieved to know that this guy is still making music. Even if his tracks haven’t really surfaced or they are used by other artists, Babyface’s talent is everlasting.
This song is an example of the timeless appeal he has. It has a very mid 90’s feel. Slow and sultry that not many songs possess these days. Sure there is one here and there but the new tracks these days are peppered with synths and hard drums. Not this track. Listen to Babyface’s promise.

Michael Jackson Tribute
by Tru on Jun.27, 2009, under Feature, New Music, Promos, R&B / Slow Jams

(August 29,1958 – June 25, 2009)
He was a great inspiration to many and was the source of both positive and negative media stories. Even with the many speculations one cannot deny what he contributed to the world. He gave to charity and left his mark on the musical world.
I strongly believed he was going to make his comeback after his UK tour. Sad to see you leave so early.

Johnta Austin – Lost Inside Your Love (Prod. Stargate)
by Tru on Jun.17, 2009, under New Music, Promos, R&B / Slow Jams

Would someone give this guy a contract already?!
Johnta Austin has teamed up with super producers Stargate for yet another slow jam smasher. This one has a little bit of an oriental type of vibe, particularly with the selection of strings. This track is relatively light with a background of organs and soft percussion. If you want a song to let your special someone know how head over heels you are for them than this is one of them. Keep them coming Johnta!
Support Johnta and check out what’s happening with him on his Official MySpace.

Adonis – Broken Wings
by Tru on Jun.10, 2009, under New Music, Promos, R&B / Slow Jams

A sad slow jam for you today. An epic song that expresses Adonis’ feelings (and maybe a point in your life) about heartache. I am a sucker for the classic string and piano combo and this song definitely lifts it to an orchestra-ic level.
For those of you who don’t know Adonis he is very much like our friend, Ne Yo. Adonis is attempting to follow in Ne Yo’s footsteps to reach that star status by focussing on song writing. He’ll have some heavy competition as Claude Kelly, Lee Carr and among many other song writers are hoping for the same break.
Check out his track and support his efforts!

London – Morning After
by Tru on May.26, 2009, under New Music, Promos, R&B / Slow Jams

I can’t find much about this London but his Morning After track is a good one. An uplifting track about the dirty deeds that are best in the morning. String and piano high notes inspired and ready to jam in your stereo. Just what you needed.

Tyrese – Take Me Away
by Tru on May.26, 2009, under New Music, Promos, R&B / Slow Jams

R&b super star, actor and newly formed rapper, Tyrese, has released a new one and it brings some slow jam heat.
It’s a slow grinder with a little bit of a techno type of feel with the synths. If he’s building some hype for his next album release I think this track does a great job. I’ve included a promo track so remember to spread the word and support the guy!
