Jamie Foxx – Intuition
by Tru on Jan.05, 2009, under Albums, New Music, R&B / Slow Jams, Reviews
In my opinion, Jamie Foxx brings forth some of the most memorable slow jams for today’s artists. I personally enjoyed “Dj Play a Love Song Feat. Twista” and “Storm (Forecass)” from his Unpredictable album. But let’s get back to his latest album, Intuition.
Intuition starts off a little fast paced. Guest stars such as TI, Lil Wayne and Kanye make their appearances to push the album. Luckily, or maybe intentionally, they are featured on the upbeat tracks. “She Got Her Own” is a mid tempo track that provides the guest star power and definitely creates some commercial accessibility to allow the general public to enjoy what other surprises this album offers. I enjoy a good fast track but being slow jams focused I would like to say the later on the album is amazing. Jamie really gets into the essence of slow jams on such songs as “Why”, “Rainman” and “Overdose”.
My prediction is that Jamie will achieve moderate success on this album. More so than his last effort, Unpredictable, with the elevation of guest stars on the album and the recent achievements he has been experiencing over the years. However, not a commercial power house yet, Jamie needs to find his “Yeah” (Usher) or “We belong together” (Mariah).
In the meantime, check out his album. I also posted a sample of some of his tracks for your listening pleasure below + a music video.
