Trey Songz Perfomance at Simeon High School

Trey Songz Performance at Simeon High School from gowherehiphop.com on Vimeo.
Gotta love artists who give back to their community. Especially ones that are as talented as Trey Songz. Here’s him at Simeon High School performing, I Need A Girl. The audio is pretty poor (what do you expect from a handy cam?) but the picture and the final message are good.
Jeremih – Birthday Sex
by Tru on Jun.02, 2009, under Music Videos, New Music, Old School, R&B / Slow Jams, Reviews, Uncategorized
Newcomer Jeremih enters the rnb arena with a rather ridiculous song if you ask me.
If you haven’t heard the song before the basic run down is about the way the sex is gonna run down. Nothing much happens in the video of course considering he’s trying to go mainstream. I enjoy the percussive and vocal arrangements on this track. The auto-tuner is a little over used but I am not gonna deny how crazy catchy this one is. Maybe that is why it hit #1 on the US billboard R&B charts. Still can’t believe it.
He’s signed on to Def Jam – the same label as Ne Yo. Should Ne Yo be afraid? Nah, I think this track was released for shock value and Ne Yo has more vocal skills. Jeremih’s debut album is coming out June 30th, 2009 if you’re interested.
Check Jeremih out on his MySpace or Def Jam page.
Almost back.

Hey. Sorry I’ve been away for the last little while. I am just straightening some life things out.
My word that I’ll be back with a heap full of slow jams within the next few days.

Lady GaGa – Poker Face (Acoustic Version)

Without the production room and electronic digs who knew that Lady GaGa could actually sing?

Lloyd – Street Love
by Tru on May.01, 2009, under Uncategorized

When Lloyd first came out I thought he was a big joke. His first mainstream placement was with Ashanti’s label Murder Inc. Over the years there’s been a huge fall out over at Murder Inc. and now it has settled reforming into The Inc.
After the drama, Lloyd continued to stay with the same label and focused his sound. His track Street Love, from the his second album of the same name, shows off his musical growth. Still far from a mature sound the track definitely hits a bump a grind feel ready for the bed room.

Away and Slow Jamming In Vegas
by Tru on Apr.23, 2009, under Uncategorized

Alrite. So I’ll be in Vegas from Thursday April 23rd to Tuesday April 28th attending a friend’s wedding (no they aren’t drunk and hitting up a minute chapel).
Unfortunately, I won’t have access to the online inter-space so hang tight until I get back. I’ll release some massive posts upon my return. Keep it fresh and stay cool…yahh…only sign off I could think of.

Toni Braxton – Heart Never Had A Hero
by Tru on Apr.14, 2009, under Uncategorized

Toni has signed on to Atlantic Records (home of TI, Missy Elliot, Trey Songz, Estelle, the Badboy Family and many others) and is coming out with a new album later this year. The album was slated to come out in the beginning of 2009 and was named Pulse but it seems as though it might be delayed. I’ll update all ya’ll as news comes in but in the mean time enjoy her latest slow jam track, Heart Never Had A Hero.
Her official page doesn’t have much on it besides a newsletter sign up list. Her MySpace has a little more but not much.

Christina Milian Announcement
by Tru on Mar.01, 2009, under Uncategorized
Straight from Christina Milian’s mouth. She’ll be dropping her new retitled album, Elope. I really want to see her break though with this one cause, in my opinion, she is one of the more talented artists on the mainstream scene. Let’s have a come back Christina.
