Brian McKnight – What I’ve Been Waiting For

It’s been a long time running for Mr. McKnight but he’s still got it. This slow jam is an extra slow one that sound a lot like his old stuff. Not that it’s a bad thing because I think the slow jam /rnb game needs this kinda throw back music again.

Let’s make a come back Brian. Check out the latest Brian McKnight developments at his official page.

Brian McKnight – Never Felt This Way

A soft piano ballad for you. Don’t let the slow beginning misdirect your judgment of this slow jam. It  may seem to start off sad but upon further listen you’ll hear the message of undying love. A little cheesy? Maybe too dramatic? Could be both but still a great track from Brian’s first album.

This song also caught the eye of Alicia Keys who made it into an interlude for her debut album, Songs In A Minor. You can check out both below.

Valentine Mood Music Part 3

by Tru on Feb.09, 2009, under Feature, Music Videos, Old School, R&B / Slow Jams

Let’s get visual. Today I’ll be featuring three relatively old school slow jams in video format. Nothing says I Love You more than a video dedication.

1. Blackstreet – Joy

Comments: With over a decade underneath this slow jam’s belt, Joy is a simple love ballad at its finest. Off of their debut album, BLACKstreet, this rnb jam explains what a woman will make you feel if she is the right one. The music video’s track is a little different from the recorded track on the album. There’s more piano and strings mixed into it which I am totally diggin’. If anyone knows where I can get this version send me an email!

2. Brian Mcknight – The Only One For You

Comments: Another classic from B. Mcknight. This one is off of his Anytime album, which by the way is his best album yet, and explains what he’s willing to do and how he’s willing to change to be with the woman he loves. Slow jam at it’s finest.

3. S Club 7 – Never Had A Dream Come True

Comments: Before I get a flood of hate mail about how this is not an rnb/slow jam bred song give this jam a listen. Or if you’ve already listened to it think about this, a lot of producers started off producing for super pop groups like this one. A la..Stargate and now look at whose teaming up with the producers…Ne Yo, Mario, Usher…

Damn right.

Regardless, this jam is great. The song is about telling someone how much they meant to you after the break up. But why say it when you’ve broken up? Let them know now that no matter what happens in the future they are irreplaceable.

Mariah Carey Feat. Brian McKnight – Whenever You Call

by Tru on Feb.02, 2009, under Music Videos, Old School, R&B / Slow Jams

I never knew this decade old rnb jam even existed!

A pretty good slow jam between Brian McKnight and the current sing star Mariah Carey. The song is about promises that two lovers make to each other and how love will never escape them. Off of Mariah’s Butterfly and #1′s album, this track never saw the light of day in music vid format…until today! Well, recording of the live performance is just as good if not better. It’s gems like these that really make artists shine when the album is in your stereo. Enjoy.

Brian McKnight – Anytime

by Tru on Jan.23, 2009, under Music Videos, Old School, R&B / Slow Jams

Brian McKnight has given us many amazing rnb jams. Remember this one from his Anytime album? It’s of the same name and, in my opinion, one of his top slow jams and my favourites to date.

It seems like he has taken a little bit of a hiatus, well, other than releasing a Christmas album but really? Does that even count? Let’s hope this slow jam king comes back with a non seasonal album.
