Valentine Mood Music Part 7

heart_cooked_egg_by_dkraner

Here we go! The final installment of the Valentine Mood Music feature. Today I give you the newest of the new slow jams to hit the air. Without further delay here is the last 3 tracks to grace round off our feature.

Jamie Foxx – Superman

Comments: An unreleased slow bangin track. I have no idea why the Foxx wouldn’t include this in his last album. Its money believe me. He sings about how a woman makes him feel…like superman. After listening you will too.

Johnta Austin – 17 Minutes (Prod. Stargate)

Comments: A lighter track amongst these three. Johnta speaks towards life after a break up but I thought this would still be a good track to let your lady/man know how much they mean to you before or if anything like that ever happens. Cherish the 18 minutes before.

Toni Braxton – Melt (Like An Iceberg)

Comments: Multiple Grammy Award winning Braxton is BACK! Better than ever too with her new single Melt from her upcoming Pulse album. This song is extremely sexy and slow. WARNING – - if played pants will fly off immediately.

Valentine Mood Music Part 6

Valentine Mood Music Part 6! Today we’ll feature some music videos that you’re sure to remember. Some slow, some sexy but all perfect for the Valentine mood.

D-Cru Feat Craig Smart – I Will Be WaitingWatch the best video clips here

Comments: Okay. So the music vid is a little alot different but don’t let it distract you from the words and beat of this prime slow jam. Canadian musicians at heart, they hit it off with this lead single but then slowly faded away. Come on D Cru…let’s make a come back!

Comments: That’s right! Some good old Montel Jordan. Classic freak track that is gonna bring back some memories for your lady or gentleman. And if you’ve never heard of this track…well…begin watching now cause this was golden back in the late 90′s and it still is.

Comments: The original So Into You was from Tamia back in 1998. A few years later Ms. Ashanti decided to redo the track and fell into a little bit of a legal battle with Tamia. I am guessing that Tamia won because the updated 2003 version was with rap super star Fabolous and Tamia. I personally dig the old version much more than the bass heavy 2003 version.

Valentine Mood Music Part 3

by Tru on Feb.09, 2009, under Feature, Music Videos, Old School, R&B / Slow Jams

heart_by_kissmeagainkitty

Let’s get visual. Today I’ll be featuring three relatively old school slow jams in video format. Nothing says I Love You more than a video dedication.

1. Blackstreet – Joy

Comments: With over a decade underneath this slow jam’s belt, Joy is a simple love ballad at its finest. Off of their debut album, BLACKstreet, this rnb jam explains what a woman will make you feel if she is the right one. The music video’s track is a little different from the recorded track on the album. There’s more piano and strings mixed into it which I am totally diggin’. If anyone knows where I can get this version send me an email!

2. Brian Mcknight – The Only One For You

Comments: Another classic from B. Mcknight. This one is off of his Anytime album, which by the way is his best album yet, and explains what he’s willing to do and how he’s willing to change to be with the woman he loves. Slow jam at it’s finest.

3. S Club 7 – Never Had A Dream Come True

Comments: Before I get a flood of hate mail about how this is not an rnb/slow jam bred song give this jam a listen. Or if you’ve already listened to it think about this, a lot of producers started off producing for super pop groups like this one. A la..Stargate and now look at whose teaming up with the producers…Ne Yo, Mario, Usher…

Damn right.

Regardless, this jam is great. The song is about telling someone how much they meant to you after the break up. But why say it when you’ve broken up? Let them know now that no matter what happens in the future they are irreplaceable.

Valentine Mood Music Part 2

by Tru on Feb.08, 2009, under Feature, New Music, Old School, R&B / Slow Jams

sex_sells_by_bunnykim

Day 2 of our Valentine feature and I thought we would make it sexy today.

To add to your slow jam, rnb collection we have 3 tracks for you to get your sexy on.

Brandy -When You Touch Me

Comments: Despite spreading herself thin between TV shows and movies, Brandy has never lost her touch with music. This track is from her album Full Moon back in 2002. Full Moon was an okay album in my opinion. I am not really a huge Brandy fan but she can definitely sing. You’re sure to set the mood with this slow vibe playing in your speakers.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Next – Splash

Comments: Next was a great group back in the day. I have always thought of them as a secondary group when compared to the likes of Dru Hill or 112 but they stay deliver the goods. Splash, from their Welcome II Nextacy album, is damn smooth. This is pretty imaginative with the analogies and gets pretty lyrically graphic. Check it out and you’ll know what I mean.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Trey Songz – In The Middle

Comments: Trey is gonna explode on to the scene some day. He’s already released two albums and I thought both redefined the rnb landscape. In The Middle is from his first album, I Gotta Make It and it really shines. Extremely smooth and, like the Next – Splash track, very imaginative. Good on word play and a must for any baby making session.

It’s that time of year again. Valentine’s Day.  The official day to express the love you have for your significant other.

Allow me to  make the day even more special by setting the mood. And what better way to set the mood than with slow jams. Hotness?! You better believe it!

Each day leading up to Valentine’s Day I will feature 3 songs that would be appropriate for your candle lit dinner, mixtape, baby making session or maybe a combination of all three. So stay tuned and come back to check out my personal recommends.

Let’s start today off:

Allure – You’re The Only One For Me

Comment: Off of The Runaway Bride soundtrack. Similar vibe as their older tracks and a must have for dedications.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Ginuwine – Love You More

Comment: Off of his The Senior album, this track has the throw back vibe that gives slow jams their golden appeal.

Audio clip: Adobe Flash Player (version 9 or above) is required to play this audio clip. Download the latest version here. You also need to have JavaScript enabled in your browser.

Natalie – Stay

Comment:  From her self debut album, Natalie. Always seems to pull my heart strings but maybe because I am just a softy.
