Usher – Nice and Slow (Live)
by Tru on Jul.23, 2009, under Music Videos, Old School, R&B / Slow Jams
Crazy throw back track more than a decade old now. I’ll post the old video but I thought it would be nice to see Usher’s talent live. Yeah, I have to admit he brings a good show and can really get the crowed going…well…at least the lady crowd. No wonder he went through with the divorce.
If you look really closely towards the end you’ll notice this one guy going crazy when Usher’s doing his hip thrust. Hilarious but doesn’t spoil the song. Keep on bringing the baby makin music Ush.
Eminem – Beautiful (Video)

Eminem – Beautiful
So what is Eminem doing on an rnb/slow jams site? Well, I don’t discriminate. Especially when a rap superstar is bearing his soul.
I’ve noticed a trend with some musicians with Eminem being an example. They’ll release a superficial track to catch the attention of the masses. Whether it is through a dance/club track or just something so out their it catch the ears of everyone. Its not until the second release where we see substance. Some REAL music…well, what I think is real. Maybe I am just getting played by the big wigs in those corporate record label offices.
Even though Eminem is speaking towards himself he’s really promoting how everyone should really believe in oneself regardless of any circumstance. ♫ Just stay TRU TO YOU ♫
The beat is hard, expected of a hip hop record, but well made and accepted from those who enjoy meaning in their music.
*Amen Em. Amen.
Joe – Majic (Video)

Joe – Majic
With Joe’s depature from Jive Records, he now has a chance to fully go all the way with his music. Majic, from his album Signature, has a throw back vibe that is…well…a signature of his style. The song will be very familiar with Joe fans as he eases you in with his smooth and slow vocals. In this video’s case, he’ll be easing you in a photo/video shoot with some lovely ladies.
Let’s go for Joe and support his new found freedom. Signature hits stores July 14, 2009.

Michael Jackson Tribute (Video)
by Tru on Jul.01, 2009, under Feature, Music Videos, New Music, R&B / Slow Jams
Here’s the Video follow up to the Michael Jackson Tribute by The Game, Chris Brown and the other guests. Good at them to make this in such a speedy time. However, I still can’t figure out where Usher or Mario Winans is in on thise one.
RIP MJ.
Avant Feat. Nicole Scherzinger – Lie About Us
by Tru on Jun.20, 2009, under Music Videos, New Music, R&B / Slow Jams
Straight from Avant’s 4th album, Director, we have a slow jam collaboration with one of the more important Pussycat Doll’s, Nicole Scherzinger.
Very well put together video, great shots and Nicole looking really good. This song’s about keeping your secret side relationship under wraps till you can get out of your existing one.
♫ Just a little bit. Just a little bit longer. Longer… ♫ Love it.
You can check our more at Avant’s Official page, or Avant’s MySpace.

Beyonce – Broken Hearted Girl
by Tru on Jun.18, 2009, under Music Videos, New Music, R&B / Slow Jams
Another music video from Beyonce and her I am…Sasha Fierce album. Personally, I am not a fan of Beyonce but you cannot deny some good slow jams. Broken Hearted Girl is one of them.
I don’t see this being an instant classic because there really is no definitive hook in this song like a Whitney Houson – I Will Always Love You. Certainly the music video was bland. I really don’t see why they chose the beach setting of this video. But sticking to the quality of the song it started slow and ends on a sad high note.
Check it out and let me know what you think.
Jeremih – Birthday Sex
by Tru on Jun.02, 2009, under Music Videos, New Music, Old School, R&B / Slow Jams, Reviews, Uncategorized
Newcomer Jeremih enters the rnb arena with a rather ridiculous song if you ask me.
If you haven’t heard the song before the basic run down is about the way the sex is gonna run down. Nothing much happens in the video of course considering he’s trying to go mainstream. I enjoy the percussive and vocal arrangements on this track. The auto-tuner is a little over used but I am not gonna deny how crazy catchy this one is. Maybe that is why it hit #1 on the US billboard R&B charts. Still can’t believe it.
He’s signed on to Def Jam – the same label as Ne Yo. Should Ne Yo be afraid? Nah, I think this track was released for shock value and Ne Yo has more vocal skills. Jeremih’s debut album is coming out June 30th, 2009 if you’re interested.
Check Jeremih out on his MySpace or Def Jam page.
Trey Songz – I Need A Girl (Prod. Stargate)
by Tru on May.18, 2009, under Music Videos, New Music, R&B / Slow Jams
New music vid from Trey Songz. One of the more upbeat r&b jams out there talking about how much he needs a girl and what he offers.
The track sounds like a staple mainstream track that you would expect on the charts. The video is nothing out of the ordinary. All the scenes are shot at the beach with different angles, women and times of day. Good use of the setting and a good track to chill to.

Tyrese – Sweet Lady
by Tru on May.13, 2009, under Music Videos, Old School, R&B / Slow Jams
What a classic. Tyrese’s Sweet Lady melted the charts back in #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart back in 1998. In my opinion, this one track set him on the r&b map.
A little bit of a cheesy video but I guess anything 10 years from now will seem like that. I like the idea of the dream sequence and him singing out loud on the bus. Brings Tyrese down to earth. Of course in the end he gets the girl. Just one thing…what’s the deal with the leaky roof? Does he really need to get soaked in it? Really?
Check out Tyrese’s Official MySpace for more info.
Keyshia Cole Feat. Monica – Trust
by Tru on May.06, 2009, under Music Videos, New Music, R&B / Slow Jams
New video from Keyshia with Monica. Ever wanted to tell someone you’re all theirs? You’ll do anything for them? You give them your complete trust and want the same?
In a woman’s perspective, this song exhibits all of the above points. The vocal production is pretty good considering you have two rnb veterans on the same track. I can’t say much for the beat though. Its alrite, nothing new but, hey, we’re here for the message.
